Daily Word Tonic 24/10/2017 - You can be angry but why let anger make a fool of you?

Abayomi G. Omotayo

There will definitely be moments, friends, situations and circumstances that will test our patience and upset us. That's okay...only if we do not let the anger overwhelm us. It then becomes a sin.

1. Ephesians  4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.

2. Ecclesiastes 7:9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

We need self control in order to effectively manage anger and the good news is that it is available as a fruit of the spirit, just ask and you shall receive. (Galatians 5:23 & Matt 7:7).

Consider this interesting verse on self control to underscore how important this virtue is;

Proverbs 25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Self control is the gateway to taming anger. Do you have it?

Do have a God-full day.

P.S: Not saved yet? That is you have no personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Click here to be saved.
