DAILY WORD TONIC 22/07/2017 - IF THE LORD DOES NOT HELP YOU, NO ONE ELSE CAN. NO ONE!

Abayomi G. Omotayo

2Kings 6:27 (KJV) And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?

This may sound incredulous knowing the propensity of humans to depend on another for help but it is the very truth. Consider the relationship between the scriptures below;

John 3:27 (KJV) John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

2Kings 6:25-27 (KJV) And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.
And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.
And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?

The reason why people are often disappointed is because they look for help in the wrong places. From the scripture above, the woman was looking up to the King for help but man is limited while God is limitless. The King could not help him and he rightly acknowledged this thus directing her to the KING OF KINGS.

Yes, God will most times use human channel to bring help but understanding and recognizing that He is the source of the help enables us to look unto him FIRST and ALONE according to Psalms 121:1-2 and Psalms 147:10-11

Need help? Turn to the right source. He is Jehovah Ezer, THE LORD MY HELPER and the good news is that He lives up to His name all the time.

Do have a God-full day.
