Isaiah 60:1-2 (KJV) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
So what is the light?

Psalm 119:130 (KJV) The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
God's word is the light that guarantees your escape from darkness, confusion, cluelessness, hopelessness...name it.
To be a beneficiary, you must know Jesus. No negotiations about this. Not by force though, it is a choice you have to make. Why?

John 1:9 (KJV) That (speaking of Jesus) was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
In case you do not know him, say a simple pray and ask him to come into your life.
"Lord Jesus, please forgive me my sins, come into my life and save my soul. Today I become yours. Thank you for saving me. Amen"
