Fraud or 'oversabi'? Kogi governor registered twice for permanent voters card

Background
  • The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accused the Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello of registering twice for the Permanent Voters Card. This is in contravention of the elctoral act.
  • The governor had his first registration on Jan. 30, 2011 in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja and the second registration on Tuesday, May 23, at the Government House, Lokoja. The statement was issued by Prince Solomon Soyebi, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee.
Our take on the matter
  •  Has INEC scammed us? What is the essence of biometrics if a voter can register twice without a central database throwing an exception or rejecting to save the secong registration.
  • This is a test of the rule of law and the anti-corruption-toga-wielding government of Buhari and the APC.
  •  If this allegation/accusation is true then the law should take its full course.
Conclusion
  •  We SPECULATE that this matter will be handled by APC as a family affair and swept under the carpet. We DARE this government to prove us wrong for the good of our democracy and to our great delight. We wait...
