We read on Bella Naija that;
  • On Monday 17 April, 2017, the Ekiti State government through the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Information, Youth and Sports Development, Kola Ajumobi, said at a public enlightenment forum announced that rapists and wife beaters now face life sentence.
  • He also said that by the approval of the governor, maternity leave has been increased from 12 to 16 weeks.
Our take on the matter
  • This is a good one. 
Conclusion
  • It is one thing to have a law, it is another thing to enforce it especially when '...is your friend' will allegedly chide the woman and send her back to her husband's house because it is a family matter. We hear this is how 'they use to do' we have no proof though.
