2Kings7:1-19
1. Elisha replied, "Hear the word of the LORD. This is what the LORD says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of the finest flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.
2."The officer on whose arm the king was leaning said to the man of God, "Look, even if the LORD should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?" "You will see it with your own eyes," answered Elisha, "but you will not eat any of it!"...
19. Then the people went out and plundered the camp of the Arameans. So a seah of the finest flour sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley sold for a shekel, as the LORD had said.
God, the Almighty, All-powerful, All-knowing God can do anything, even beyond our imagination (Ephesians 3:20). As a matter of fact He is not a man that lies nor the son of man that changes his mind. He does what he says and fulfills his promises. Always. (Numbers 23:19)
The Problem
Our seemingly enlightened but definitely limited minds over analyze His promises (which are Yea and Amen, meaning 'a done deal') thereby destroying our faith which consequently limits God because without faith it is impossible to please Him.
In the text above, the officer couldn't fathom how a nation facing chronic food shortage would have abundance just within twenty four hours. How???. Ask God. He did as He said, didn't HE?
The Solution
1. Be like little children. They have an unlimited capacity to believe that their parents tell them.
Matthew 18:2-3 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
2 .Take strength and build from Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
